Annie Lou Hutchens

Hutchens East Bend - Annie Lou Hutchens, 81, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born October 12, 1933 in Yadkin County to the late David Harrison Hutchens and Julia Phillips Hutchens. Annie was a faithful member of Baltimore United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors, bluegrass music, and playing the piano. She retired from Hanes Hosiery and volunteered 3,359 hours at Comp Rehab Wake Forest Baptist Health. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Wyatt; brothers, James Hutchens, D.H. Hutchens; special friend, Bill Hicks; nephews, Noel Hutchens, Timothy Hutchens; sister-in-law, Thelma Dinkins Hutchens. Surviving are her children, Glenn (Doodle) Vestal, Jennie (Donnie) Jenkins, Brent Vestal; grandchildren, Kevin (Michelle) Marshall, Holly (Todd) Vestal, Jessica (Jasper) Spaugh; six great grandchildren; sisters, Lucy (Nookie) Howell, Evelyn Hutchens; brother, Charles (Treva) Hutchens; sister-in-law, Doris Hutchens; brother-in-law, Billy Wyatt; several nieces and nephew; special friends, Aldean Taylor and Paul Rutledge. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Baltimore United Methodist Church by the Rev. Kelly Giese and the Rev. Bobby Jenkins, Jr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
