Warden Yadkinville- Effie Christine Warden, 56, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 27, 2015. She was born May 12, 1959 in Surry County to the late Verne Wesley and Rosie Lee Collins Warden. Chrisitine, as she was lovingly known, had spent the last 16 years living at the Yadkin Group Home in Hamptonville. She enjoyed singing at the various churches she visited, and enjoyed the time she spent working in the Workshop every day. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Vickey Elaine Warden; and her cousin, Paula Chavers. Surviving are her brother, Robert Wayne and wife, Pam Warden of East Bend; nephews, Wesley and John David Warden; aunts, Bobbie Jane Collins, Edith C. Sprinkle, Kay Driver, and husband, James; Joan Collins; an uncle John Warden; several cousins, friends, and the special family member of her care team, Scarlett Dinkins, Tonia King, Nancy Amelia Tucker, Crystal Gadberry, and many other caregivers, whom she loved dearly. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will follow the visitation in the Gentry Family Chapel by Brother Lawrence Warden. Burial will follow in the Deep Creek Friends Church Cemetery.
