Rex Alexander Johnson

Johnson Hamptonville - Rex "Alex" Alexander Johnson, 58, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015. He was born August 28, 1957 in Yadkin County to Rex Gilbert Johnson and Priscilla Moore Johnson. Alex enjoyed playing several different types of instruments. He started playing the drums when he was very young and from then on he always walked to the beat of his own drum. Music was his love and joy in life. He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Gilbert Johnson. Surviving are his mother, Priscilla Moore Johnson; brother, Bryan Johnson. His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Flat Rock Baptist Church by the Rev. Joey Tomlin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Flat Rock Baptist Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Johnson family.
