Madeline Martha Shore

Winston Salem Mrs. Madeline Martha Myers Shore, born June 10, 1925 in Elkin to Carl Clinton Myers and Lora Billings Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William C. Myers of Elkin and Joe G. Myers of Statesville; a sister, Clyde M Powers of Elkin; two sisters-in-law, Martha S. Martin, Elizabeth S. Reece; a grandson, Ray Hollowell of Kenly and a granddaughter, Rebecca Hahn of Orlando. Mrs. Shore attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and High Point University. She was married to John Wade Shore of Boonville on October 26, 1946. She was a member of Boonville Baptist Church and was active in church and civic activities. She was a charter member and one of the organizers of the Boonville Woman's Club. She helped to organize the first Girl Scout troop in Boonville and served as Brown and troop leader. Mrs. Shore is survived by her husband, John Wade Shore; her sons, John Wade Shore III and wife Rebecca of Greensboro and Mark Myers Shore and wife Vickie of Kenly; her daughter, Cynthia S. Hahn and husband Thomas of Orlando, Fla. Three grandchildren - Michael John Shore and wife Julie of Centreville, VA; Emily Hahn of Orlando, Fl; and Cameron S. Flowers and Steven of Holly Springs, NC. In addition she is survived by a brother-in-law, Henry F. Shore of Boonville and a sister-in-law, Katherine Myers of Statesville. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11:00AM at Boonville Baptist Church with Rev. John Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Boonville Cemetery.
