Boonville Mr. James "Franklin" Hinshaw, 72, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hinshaw was born September 25, 1943 in Yadkin County to Gurnie and Irma Hobson Hinshaw. He is a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Hinshaw was a life member of the American Legion Post 336. He was a faithful member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Hinshaw enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spent several years coaching Boonville Black Knights football. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hinshaw was preceded in death by a brother, Howell Hinshaw. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Louise Stewart Hinshaw; three children, Trent (DeAnna) Hinshaw, Shannon (LeAnn) Hinshaw, and Kami Hinshaw (Rodney Fowler); five grandchildren, Nathan Hinshaw, Trevor Swaim, Haley Hinshaw, Miles Hinshaw, and Ashlyn Hinshaw; one step granddaughter, Alicia Zimmerman; two step great grandchildren, Gatlin Zimmerman and Easton Cave; three brothers, Gray (Hazel) Hinshaw, Glyce (Peggy) Hinshaw, and Paul (Letty) Hinshaw; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 4:00PM at Richmond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Will Hamric officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and NC National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin 320 W. Maple Street Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice, especially Becky Trivette and Kathy Reece, for all the loving care shown to Franklin during his illness. Also to all the friends, neighbors and area pastors for the visits, support and prayers.
