Herbert Hoover Shore

Boonville Mr. Herbert Hoover Shore, 87, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Mr. Shore was born June 16, 1928 in Yadkin County to Thad and Mary Johnson Shore. He enjoyed farming, fox hunting, mowing and spending time at the store with friends. Mr. Shore was a member of Longtown UMC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shore was preceded in death by an infant brother, Henry Clay Shore. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Edith Sizemore Shore; three children, Benny (Pam) Shore, Danny (Rita) Shore, and Dennis (Marcia) Shore; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; one sister, June Hayes; and one niece, Tammy Gordon. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 5:00PM at Longtown UMC cemetery with Rev. Bridges officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Woltz Hospice Home for the loving care given to Mr. Shore during his illness.
