John Graham "Jack" Reece passed away peacefully on October 25, 2015. He was born October 2, 1920 to the late James Lee and Maggie Scott Reece. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Clyde Reece, and sisters, Ann Wood and Alma Ruth Adams. He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Frances Jester Reece; two daughters, Linda (Douglas) Smith and Rebecca Poindexter (Grady Hennings); and one son, Morris Reece (fiancée Lynn White). He is also survived by four beloved grandchildren, Joel (Tammy) Poindexter, Jinda (Avery) Haynes, Jason (Tina) Poindexter, and Marlee Reece; and six great-grandchildren, Duncan and Reese Poindexter, Grayson and Charlesten Haynes, and Bailey and Henley Poindexter. Also surviving is one sister, Edith Hudson. Left to cherish Jack's memories is a host of nieces and nephews, along with many friends and neighbors. Jack was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and attended as long as his health permitted. He was also a charter member of Fall Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Jack retired from Wiseman Oil Company after many years of service. He and Frances lived on a farm where they grew tobacco and raised beef cattle. In addition, Jack enjoyed working and driving used cars for local dealers until well into his 80's. Jack enjoyed gardening and playing cards and was an avid baseball fan, having played on an outstanding team while in school at East Bend. He was a quick-witted, easygoing, friendly man, always concerned about his church family, the community, neighbors, and many friends. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28 at Union Grove Baptist Church.
