Ernest "Junior" Barber

Boonville Mr. Ernest "Junior" Barber, 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 31, 2015. Junior was born March 25, 1936 in Yadkin County. He attended Northwood Baptist Church and retired from Unifi after many years of service. Junior was an avid outdoorsman, hunting rabbit, deer, and turkey. He also loved gardening. Junior was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Doris Ford Barber. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Blevins Barber; two children, Pete (Tina) Barber and Annette (Jay) Burchette; two step children, Freddie (Lisa) Ashley and Twinkle (Mike) Sizemore; two grandchildren, Kristen (Aaron) Saunders and Tequilla Barber (Lance Davis); three step grandchildren, Jay J (Jessica) Burchette, Brandon Shore, and Emma Sizemore; three great grandchildren, Kobe Davis, Caleb Davis, and Max Saunders; two step great grandchildren, Jackson and Jase Burchette; and two sisters, Irene Cockerham and Polly Pratt. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Alan Barker and Rev. Charlie Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Island Ford Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to express a sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice for their loving care given to Junior.
