Mr. Charles Julius Miller, 76, passed away November 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born on December 12, 1938 in Yadkin County to the late Ralph and Lola Miller. He was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending services there with his wife when his health allowed. Charles retired from RJ Reynolds after 33 years of service. He also enjoyed raising tobacco with his good friend Marion Gray Miller and keeping a large garden and beautiful lawn. But the most important part of his life was his wife of 59 years, JoAnn Miller, his five girls, and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Dean (C.D.) Miller. Surviving are his wife JoAnn Miller; his children Ronnie Abbott, Monnie Miller, Tammie Bowman, Vicky Miller, and Charlene (Billy) Brandon; his grandchildren Justin Bowman and Heather Bowman, Christopher (Bailey) Brandon and Amber Brandon; one great grandson, Roe Brandon; brother Coy (Grace) Miller; sister-in-law, JoAnn Miller; special friends Jimmy Bryant, Cat Hauser, and Donna Bell. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church by Pastor Hobert Lee Freeman and Rev. Robin Fitzgerald. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Melany Martin, for all of her love, support, and care for Charles throughout his entire illness.
