Lucille C. Reavis

Reavis Yadkinville- Mrs. Lucille C. Reavis, 88, of Fleming Road passed away Thursday, November 05, 2015 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. Mrs. Reavis was born August 14, 1927 in Iredell County, the youngest of 12 children to the late Robert Harvey and Minnie Reavis Cain. She retired from Unifi, Inc. in 1990 with several years of service and was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church in Hamptonville as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Reavis was a loving, devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother to her family, enjoyed quilting for others, and was known for cooking and baking delicious deserts. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Harold Reavis in June of 1975; her late husband, Dick Reavis in 2011; and by 6 sisters and 5 brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Linda Reavis, Statesville; Kay (Randy) Thompson, Boonville; Rena (Jerry) Wall, Hamptonville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00PM Saturday at the Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM Saturday in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Bert Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
