Vickie Ann Adams Hartwell

Vickie Ann Adams Hartwell, 64, passed away Saturday November 7, 2015. She was born August 27, 1951 to the late Hubert and Novella W. Adams. Vickie graduated from Forbush High School with the Class of 1970. She worked at Chatham Manufacturing Company for over 30 years of service. She retired due to disability in 1995. Vickie was married to the late Roy V. Hartwell they were married for 38 years. Vickie had one daughter Dawn (Wayne) Hutchens; two grandchildren Justin Hutchens and Brittany Hutchens; preceded in death by a granddaughter Jamie Ruthann Hutchens. Vickie was a resident of Yadkin Nursing Care Center going on five years. She came to live there in September 2011 after being unable to stay at home. Vickie loved it there and Yadkin Nursing Care Center became her home. She met a lot of friends there. She was a loving, caring, sharing person who was greatly loved by everyone. Her favorite things to do was playing bingo, watching TV, and attending church services at YNCC. Vickie was a person who loved to be around people and people loved being around her. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, her paternal grandparents Carl and Clinton Adams; maternal grandparents Richard (Dick) and Pearl Benton Wagoner. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Wednesday November 11, 2015 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday November 11, 2015 in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. John Brown. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial be made to Gentry Family Funeral Service 5108 US Hwy 601 N. Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the Forsyth Palliative Care Unit NICU and Forsyth Critical Care team for the compassion and care given to Vickie my Mother during her stay and through her journey to Heaven. I would also like to thank Yadkin Nursing Care Center for the care given to her for the past 5 years. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Hartwell family.
