George Henry Renegar

Yadkinville Mr. George Henry Renegar, Sr., 78, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Renegar was born April 3, 1937 in Yadkin County to George Frank and Ruby Caroline Renegar. He was a member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Renegar loved gardening and farming. He also enjoyed making molasses, but he called it raising cane. In addition to his parents, Mr. Renegar was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hanes; and three brothers, Roy, Lonnie, and Frank Renegar. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Virginia Brown Renegar; two children, Donna (Gorrell) Cranfill and G. Renegar, Jr. and fiancée Diane; four grandchildren, Seth and Rose Cranfill, Amanda (Trey) Spillman, and Elijah Renegar; one great grandchild, Makaila Spillman; one sister, Lacey Hutchens; and three brothers, Flay (Katie) Renegar, Doc (Blanche) Renegar, and Joe (Ann) Renegar. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00PM at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Beavers and Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM at the church prior to the funeral service.
