Wade Forest Johnson

Yadkinville Mr. Wade Forest Johnson, 81, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at his home. Mr. Johnson was born April 10, 1934 in Guilford County to Barney and Ruby Crabtree Johnson. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served during the Korean War. Mr. Johnson was a member of Yadkinville Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Willard Johnson; and a son, Wade Forest Johnson, Jr. He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Johnson; two grandchildren, Tracy Hopkins and Ronald (Gail) Floyd; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Daniel (Eunice) Johnson; a special niece, Virginia Ann (Lee) Mounce; and many other extended family members. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be conducted Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 1:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Richard Loman and Rev. Tim Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Friends Meeting cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
