William Edward Jackson, Jr.

Jackson Hamptonville- Mr. William Edward "Stoney" Jackson, Jr., 90, of Old Highway 60 passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born September 3, 1925 in Wilkes County to the late William Edward Jackson, Sr. and Joyce Godfrey Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Navy, was retired from Carolina Mirror Company, and was a faithful member of Dennyville Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, James Gray and two sisters, Barbara Smith, Mary Lewis. Surviving are his beloved wife, Betty G. Jackson; his loving children, Terry Jackson, David (Susan) Gray, Wayne (Beth) Gray, Scott (Sharon) Jackson, Jane G. (Bill) Horne; grandchildren, Adam Gray, Seth Gray, Aaron Jackson, Anna G. Watson, Jennifer G. Wilson, Peter Gray, Cleve Gray, Trey Sullivan, Casey J. Gaffrey, Amber Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Jordan Jackson; 5 great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Jackie Jones. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM Saturday at Dennyville Baptist Church. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Saturday in the church by Rev. Joel Riley and Rev. Dwayne Byrd. Burial will follow in Dennyville Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Dennyville Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2713 Old Highway 60, Ronda, NC or to the Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Willowbrook Nursing Center, Brookdale Senior Living, and to Woltz Hospice Home for their loving care.
