Swaim Boonville- Mr. Paul H. Swaim, 95, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin. He was born June 13, 1920 in Yadkin County to the late Henry Ellis Swaim and Annie Casstevens Swaim Carter. Mr. Swaim was the former owner and operator of Swaims Brothers Gulf Service Station in Elkin for over 30 years. After his retirement he worked for several years as a courier with First Union National Bank. Mr. Swaim was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church of Hamptonville. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel H. Swaim on January 24, 2009 and by two brothers, Thad Swaim and Henry Ellis Swaim, Jr. Surviving are his two sons, Ronnie L. Swaim and his wife, Brenda of Hamptonville; Paul H. Swaim, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Pfafftown; 4 grandchildren, David Swaim, Patrick Swaim, Jeff Swaim, Gina Adams; 7 great-grandchildren, Haley, Andrew, Seth, Hope, Megan, Kristan, and Kyle. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Little Mountain Road in Jonesville. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 PM Tuesday in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Benny Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Swaims Baptist Church Cemetery.
