James Henry "Clay" Riley, 84, passed away Monday December 21, 2015. He was born March 11, 1931 to the late Claude and Alice Stokes Riley. He graduated from West Yadkin High School and served with the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Riley was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Clay was part owner of Riley Oil Company and East Coast Tours and later employment with Riley Livestock. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Odell Riley. Surviving are his wife of 60 years Anne Speer Riley; two sons Timmy Clay (Dena) Riley, Henry Scott Riley; grandchildren Zane Speer (Michelle) Riley, Taylor Clay (Kasey) Riley; great granddaughter Annalee Jade Riley; a sister Jo Ann (Jerry) Crouse; several relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Wednesday December 23, 2015 at Mountain View Baptist Church. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM following the visitation by the Rev Tim Tucker and Rev. Justin Crouse. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full Military Honors by the NC National Guard and the VFW Post 10346. The family would like to thank the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center and the staff ICU 3rd floor at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital for the loving care given to Mr. Riley.
