Judy Everidge Mauldin

Mauldin Hamptonville- Mrs. Judy Everidge Mauldin, 72, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 24, 2015 at her home. She was born April 12, 1943 in Surry County to the late James Edgar and Retha Thompson Everidge. Mrs. Mauldin was a graduate of West Yadkin High School where she achieved perfect attendance through her elementary and high school years. She was blessed with a green thumb and enjoyed working outside with her flowers, and loved feeding the hundreds of hummingbirds that came to her house each year. Mrs. Mauldin worked at Davidson College as a designer with the Tom Clarke Gnome company, was a devoted homemaker, and loved spending her time quilting for others. She worked as a C.N.A. for 20 years, and was an avid Amateur HAM Radio enthusiast and SKYWARN Operator with her husband. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Ipock; and 5 brothers, Charles Everidge, Sam Everidge, Jack Everidge, James Everidge, John Earl Everidge. Surviving are her loving husband with whom she was married for 53 years on December 26, Ernest Mauldin; her son, Jerome (Donna) Mauldin; Grandchildren, Heath (Kayla) Mauldin, Heather (Ritchie) Holbrook; Great-Grandchildren, Colton, Ross, Sydni; her sister, Elaine Ireland; her brothers, Joe Clay Everidge, Ovid Everidge, Albert Everidge; her loving dog, Chigger; and her favorite cat, Miss Kitty. A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Zion Baptist Church by Chaplain Greg Anderson and Rev. Kent Ovaitt, the Associate Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, and special singing by Rick Harris. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Mountain Valley Hospice, 320 West Maple Street, Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Zion Baptist Church, 714 Union Grove Road, Union Grove, NC 28689. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice especially staff, Doris, Melinda, Penny, and to their special neighbors and friends with the Amateur Radio Community.
