George Monroe Hobson

Boonville Mr. George Monroe Hobson, 85, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 from complications of Parkinson's disease and Diabetes. Mr. Hobson was born August 30, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Theodore and BettyOakley Hobson. He was a member of Boonville United Methodist Church. Mr. Hobson is survived by his wife of 30 years, Peggy Brown Hobson; stepchildren, Joey Brown and wife Debbie, and Donna Jean O'Neill and husband Shane; and step grandchildren, Kayla Brown, Dan, David, and Amanda Druck. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:30AM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Rex Cranfill officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service. Mr. Hobson will be open for public viewing after 11:00AM on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boonville UMC Building Fund, PO Box 178 Boonville NC 27011. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Pruitt Health Care for the loving care given to Mr. Hobson the past 3 years.
