Gurney Andrew Benton

Gurney Andrew Benton, 95, passed away Saturday December 26, 2015. He was born August 1, 1920 in Yadkin County to the late Homer Tack and Rhetta Haynes Benton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Jane Spainhour Benton, a sister Flossie Carter, a brother Gaither Benton. Surviving are his daughter Carol Jean Benton Bryant; step children Betty Hardy, Dare Mathis, Jerry Coe; grandchildren Michael Bryant, Eric Bryant, and Christy Bryant Norman; niece Jean Hutchens. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday January 4, 2016 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville by Rev. Don Hudson. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
