Pauline Hobson

East Bend Mrs. Pauline Hicks Hobson, 84, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Hobson was born July 28, 1931 in Yadkin County to Allen and Maude Spillman Hicks. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church where she played the piano for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hobson was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wade Hobson; two sisters, Lucille Brown and Minnie Fletcher; and two brothers, Kenneth Hicks and Delbert Hicks. She is survived by one son, Donald Wade Hobson and wife Katherine; two grandchildren, Jeffery Wade Hobson and wife Miranda and Leslie Faith Barker and husband Jonathan; and five great grandchildren, Rachel Ann Hobson, Nathan Wade Hobson, Madelyn Faith Barker, Alyvia Grace Barker, and Victoria Hope Barker. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11:00AM at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Bethel BC Building Fund, 4332 Mt Bethel Church Rd, East Bend, NC 27018 or to Mtn. Valley Hospice SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin 320 W. Maple Street Yadkinville, NC 27055.
