Ralph Jerry Neal

Yadkinville Mr. Ralph Jerry Neal, 81, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Neal was born May 21, 1934 in Yadkin County to James and Jettie Parker Neal. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for 40 years. Mr. Neal was a charter member of Lone Hickory Fire Dept. and served as Fire Chief from 1968-1972. He continued as an active member for several years after retiring as chief. Mr. Neal owned and operated Ralph's Radiator Service for 29 years. He enjoyed antique cars and tractors. In addition to his parents, Mr. Neal was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Watson, Nannie Campbell, and Imelda LaForce; and five brothers, George, Winford, Everette, Robert, and Conard Neal. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jettie Reavis Neal; four children, Sheila (Lynn) Elledge, Mary (Jeffrey) Secrest, Charles (Gina) Neal, and Shirley Pardue (Dale Roark); eight grandchildren, James (Erin) Williams, Robert Williams (Stephanie Brewer), Logan and Hannah Secrest, Loren and Kailey Neal, Tiffany and Shawn Ward; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Levi, and Bradley Williams, and Ella Owen; and his twin brother, Ray Neal. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11:00AM at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Bert Mathis and James Williams officiating. Mr. Neal will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Misty, Jo, Cegy, and Tabitha at Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care shown to Mr. Neal.
