Yadkinville Mr. Thomas Allen Cranfill, 82, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Cranfill was born February 21, 1933 in Yadkin County to Henry and Lois Cockerham Cranfill. He was a member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and trustee. Mr. Cranfill was a veteran of the US Army, having served from 1953 to 1955 in the 141st Tank Battalion and served 18 months in Germany. He was a life member of the Lone Hickory American Legion. Mr. Cranfill retired from Westinghouse with 23 years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cranfill was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph David Cranfill. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Frankie Hutchens Cranfill, whom he married on July 4, 1957; two children, Michael (Cheri) Cranfill and Angie (Eric) Jester; two grandchildren, Tyler Allen Cranfill and Lanie Sierra Jester; one sister, Mary Mize; and many special family members and friends. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00AM at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Beavers and Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and NC National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to South Oak Ridge BC 20/20 Fund, 1336 Lone Hickory Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
