Mary Lou Martin Williams

November 16, 1930 — January 18, 2016

Hamptonville Mrs. Mary Lou King Martin Williams of Hamptonville passed away Monday, 18 Jan 2016. She was born Nov 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Miles W & DeEtte Riley King. Eighty-five years, a full life of service to God and caring love to family and friends. Found great happiness in caring for others and undertaking craft projects. Mary Lou grew up in the Marler community and graduated West Yadkin High School where she enjoyed playing basketball. She was employed by Hanes Hosiery and later Unifi while farming and raising family. Greatest joys were family, flowers, music, multiple crafts and cooking, famous for her desserts and pound cake. Once the pianist and organist for Mt View Baptist Church. Perhaps her only regret would be that she had even more kindness and cooking to share with others. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her first husband Clyde J Martin, sons Donald and Jamie, siblings Evaline Moody and Jimmy King. Survived by her husband Elwood Williams, sons and daughters-in-law David & Donna Martin of Mooresville, Mark & Leah Williams and David & Patty Williams of Yadkinville. She passionately loved her 6 grandchildren Erik (Sylvia), Whitney (Andrew), Victoria, Rebecca, Sarah, Isaac, and 2 great grandchildren Noah & Hazel. Surviving siblings are Patsy Van Hoy, Leo (Katie) King, Archie (Phyllis) King, Allen (Shirley) King and Jack (Frances) King. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 PM Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Mt View Baptist Church in Hamptonville, NC. Following visitation, the funeral service will be conducted by Rev Tim Tucker at 3:00PM. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
