George Daniel "Hamp" Hampton

George Daniel "Hamp" Hampton, 80, passed away Thursday January 21, 2016. He was born July 26, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Royce Hampton and Katherine Ferguson Hampton. Mr. Hampton was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery and was a member of Hanes Grove United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Ronnie Hampton; a sister Wanda Hampton; two brothers Arden Hampton and Preston Hampton. Surviving are his wife Bonnie Livengood Hampton; children Ricky (Katherine) Hampton, Randall (Diane) Hampton, Russell (Pam) Hampton, Ryan (Lori) Hampton, Connie Shelton; grandchildren Carrie Hampton, Michael Hampton, Christopher Hampton, ESQ, Dr. Daniel (Laura) Hampton, Ronnie Hampton, Ashlyn Hampton, Peyton Hampton, Nathan Hampton, Lauren Hampton; greatgrandchild Jaden Hampton; sister Lorraine Ridings; two special friends Nellie Peele and Charlie Lanchaster; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday January 25, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday January 26, 2016 at Hanes Grove United Methodist Church by Rev. Mark Reavill, Rev. Scott Hammer, and speaker Wayne Simmons. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
