Williams Boonville - James "Jimmy" "Nut" Clyde Williams, 79, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016. He was born June 14, 1936 in Yadkin County to the late Clyde Eldon Williams and Frances Ann Moxley Williams. Jimmy owned and operated Williams Body Shop for 45 years. He was a Boonville Town Commissioner for 8 years. Jimmy was in the Boonville Fire Department for 17 years and also worked at Yadkin County Country Club for over 10 years. He enjoyed going to High School Football games where he carried the chains for Boonville High School and Starmount High School for over 50 years. Jimmy loved gardening, golf, and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Hobson Williams; daughters, Sharon (Jeff) Webb, Lynn (Chris) Melton; grandchildren, Nick (Sara) Webb, Nichole Webb (Matt Rupard), Danny Casey (Chelsea Broome), Cody Casey; step grandchildren, Corrie (Chris) Huffman, Colt (Autumn) Melton, Dustin (Hannah) Melton; great grandchild, Saylor Webb; nine step great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Burch; several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by Robin Vann, Phillip Willard, and Rev. Jenny Stewart. Burial will follow at Boonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the family.
