Herbert Jay Brendle

Yadkinville Mr. Herbert Jay Brendle, 98, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Willowbrook Health Care. Mr. Brendle was born January 2, 1918 in Yadkin County to Carl and Cora Shore Brendle. He was a member of Deep Creek Friends Meeting. Mr. Brendle retired from Piedmont Airlines as an Airplane Mechanic after 40 years of service. He enjoyed flying and rabbit hunting. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brendle was preceded in death by a brother, Ben Shore Brendle; and a brother-in-law, Elbert Wishon. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lois Hobson Brendle; a sister, Alice Brendle Wishon; a sister-in-law, Ruby Nell Brendle; a special lifelong friend and flying buddy, Harvey Smith; and many special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2:00PM atGentry Family Chapel with Pastor Georgianne Hartline and Pastor Randy Quate officiating. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Friends Meeting cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
