Zeddie Kiah Mullis, Jr.

Mullis Hamptonville - Zeddie "Z.K." Kiah Mullis, Jr., 83, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Willowbrook Nursing Care Center. He was born February 27, 1932 in Yadkin County to the late Zeddie Kiah Mullis, Sr. and Margie Mayberry Mullis. Z.K. graduated from West Yadkin High School in 1951. He was drafted into the U.S. Army shortly after and served in the Korean War. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and was a Deacon for several years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Mullis. Surviving are his former wife, Mary G. Mullis; children, Linda (Ike) Trivette, Michael (Louise) Mullis, Randy (Kim) Mullis, Donald (Teresa) Mullis; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Williams; brother, Charles Mullis; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church by the Rev. Jim Holbrook and Marty Mullis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the N.C. National Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Mullis family.
