Mrs. Rachel S. Dull, 103, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Center. She was born May 17, 1912 in Yadkin County to the late John Henry and Mary Stokes. Mrs. Dull was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was the oldest living member of Mountain View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Cheek. Surviving are her daughter, Aldia Gough of Winston-Salem; her son, James Cheek of Winston-Salem; daughter-in-law, Violet Cheek of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Jenny Osborne, Mooresville; Greg Cheek of King; Angie Robertson of King, Keith (Debbie) Gough of Winston-Salem, Michael Gough of New York, Mark (Sandy) Gough of King, Chris Gough of Belews Creek; Great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, Griffin, Josh, Cory, Blythe, Zach, Jessica, Heather, Drew, and Josh; her sister, Eloise Myers, Hamptonville; and her brother, Jay Stokes of Boonville. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM Thursday at Mountain View Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow the visitation on Thursday at 3:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Davis and his nurse, Yvonne; Dr. McGrath, the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center, and to Country Village of Winston-Salem, especially the manager, Nancy Kates, and maintenance supervisor, David Bonney, for all the loving care and support given to Mrs. Dull through the years.
