Judy Marie Harris Simmons

Judy Marie Harris Simmons, 70, passed away Thursday February 4, 2016. She was born June 10, 1945 in Surry County to the late O E and Hazel Long Harris. Mrs. Simmons was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters Geraldine Sasser, Carolyn O'Conner, Alice Judd; three brothers Norman Harris, James Harris, Spencer Harris. Surviving are her husband John W. Simmons; two children Michael Groce (Tanya Jones), Jason Simmons; two step-children Wesley (Holly) Simmons, Melissa Simmons; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister Doris (Lemon) Carter; a brother Earl (Dot) Harris. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday February 7, 2016 at Mountain View Baptist Church. Her funeral will be conducted at 3:00 PM following the visitation at the church by Rev. Tim Tucker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center and also a special friend Tanya Jones for the loving care given to Mrs. Simmons.
