William Sherman Hutchens

Elkin Mr. William Sherman Hutchens, 69, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his home. Mr. Hutchens was born April 21, 1946 in Surry County to John and Helen Shore Hutchens. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hutchens was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Billy Lee Jester. He is survived by two children, Billy Hutchens and Kim Hutchens (Charles); 6 grandchildren, Kristina Hutchens, CJ (Nicole) Sloop, Nikki Sloop, Laken Hutchens, Rebecca Hutchens, and Harley Hutchens; 10 great grandchildren, Dalton, Colby, Gracie, & John Blake Butcher, Kimber & Skylar Leonhardt, Aubrie & Mason Sloop, Hunner Brown, and Rosie Woodall; 6 sisters, Peggy Owens, Linda Hutchens, Carol Williams, Barbara Smith, Jo Ann Jester, and Lesa (Junior) Coe; one uncle, Jerry Lee Shore; and the mother of his children, Karen Hutchens. A graveside service will be conducted Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 3:00PM at Boonville Cemetery with Brother Lawrence Warden officiating.
