William "Bill" Marvin Goins, Jr.

Goins Winston-Salem - William "Bill" Marvin Goins, Jr., 78, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016. He was born November 6, 1937 in Yadkin County to the late William Marvin Goins, Sr. and Mozella Shore Goins. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for over 30 years at Mclean Trucking Company and was a proud member of Teamster Union Local 391. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Bill was a faithful Christian, had a great sense of humor, and always enjoyed telling stories. He loved gardening and enjoyed his pets. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Goins; sister, Margarete Trivette; brothers, James Goins, Charles Goins, and Walter Goins. Surviving are his wife, Bettye Minish Goins; son, Marty (Melissa) Goins; grandchildren, William Zachary Goins, Rusti Breann Goins, William Talbert Goins; brother, Robert (Doris) Goins. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Vernon Forest Baptist Church by the Rev. James Brown. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Baptist Cemetery with full military honors from the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, one hour prior to the service, at the church. Memorials can be made to Vernon Forest Baptist Church Piano Fund, 274 Mt.
