Gilbert Lee Grose

Grose Yadkinville - Gilbert Lee Grose, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Grose was born on June 7, 1934 to the late Carl and Bertha Grose in Iredell County. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Jerry Lee Grose and eight brothers. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Eva Mae Grose; a daughter who adored him, Nancy Grose Simmons, and son-in-law Steve. Gib was a good worker for Yadkinville School for twenty years, a good farmer, a good gardener, but most importantly he was simply a good man. Rest in peace Mr. Gilbert Lee Grose, and always know that your family adored you and thought that you were simply the greatest. His graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at South Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery by Seth Cranfill. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Mr. Grose loved overalls and blue jeans, so please come as you are. In lieu of flowers or memorials, it would please ole Gib if you took some money and helped out a stray animal once in a while.
