Wood Hamptonville- Mr. Tony Graham Wood, 50, of Arnold Road passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Moore County from a work related accident. He was born March 18, 1965 in Yadkin County to Edisel Arthur Wood and Marie Wood Lancaster. Mr. Wood worked with Vegetation Management Inc. and loved spending his time outdoors by hunting, mowing, or working in his garden. He was a member of Hanes Grove United Methodist Church. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father, and his grandparents, Arthur and Bessie Wood, Albert and Pernie Durham. Surviving are his beloved wife of 28 years, Melissa Shore Wood, of the home; 2 children, Brittany Wood, Hamptonville; Kendall Wood, of the home; his grandson, Colton Hart; his mother, Marie Wood Lancaster and stepfather, Charlie Lancaster of Hamptonville; sister, Lynn Shore, Hamptonville; brother-in-law, Wayne "Nub" Shore, Hamptonville; 2 nephews, Levi Thompson, Zane Shore; and several friends including some of his best friends, Sylvia Burchette, Harry Simpson, Gerald Honeycutt, Motson Harris, Ben Vogels, Bud Royall. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday February 22, 2016 in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Randy Johnson. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
