Archie Bell Groce

Yadkinville Mrs. Archie Bell Cave Groce, 91, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Groce was born May 1, 1924 in Surry County to Crawley and Phoebe Brindle Cave. She was a member of Peacehaven Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and needlepoint. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Groce was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Groce; a son, Bobby Lee Groce; one sister, Ruby Finney; and five brothers Clyde, Marvin, Rufus, J.E., and Ed Cave. She is survived by one son, Franklin (Linda) Groce; one daughter-in-law, Marie Groce; four grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Groce, Jeffrey Groce (Melissa), Kevin (Rita) Groce, and Andy (Kathy) Groce; four great grandchildren, Tate Williams, Ty Groce, Candace Groce, and Andy Groce, Jr.; one great-great grandchild, Kayleigh Wishon; one brother, Junior Cave; two sisters, Violet Jester and Pansy (Leroy) Speer; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 11:00AM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Leroy Speer officiating. Burial will follow at Swaims Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Groce family.
