Linda Elizabeth Parker, 67, passed away Sunday March 6, 2016. Linda Elizabeth Parker was born August 2, 1948 in Houston Texas to Robert and Ruby Parker Utt. She grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and graduated from North Forsyth High School. She married Ray Parker in 1968. To this union were born three children Gina Rae Parker, Joseph Michael Parker and Patrick Matthew Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sons. She is survived by her husband Ray Parker, daughter Gina Rae Parker McGee (Wesley Johnson, Sr.) and a sister, Bobbie Jean Williamson all of Boonville, NC, two special sisters-in laws, Joann Parker Miller and Sandra Parker (Roger) Adams, a niece Misty Willamson and a grandnephew Jake Willamson, nieces Dee Miller (Brian) Shore, Anna Miller-Fitzwater (Jeromy) Fitzwater, and grandnephews Ian and Ben Fitzwater. Her special friends Dixie and Wesley Johnson Jr, her cats Rosie, Cracker, Jilly, Shirley, Mike, Louie and Harvey and a greenhouse full of beautiful flowers. She was a wonderful mother and cook. She spent almost 9 years as the primary caregiver for her two sons who suffered from acute anemia disorder while enduring hospital trips almost every month and time at Harvard Medical Children's Hospital in Boston. Her career began at Hanes Corporation in the data processing area, she took a break to care for her children, then she continued work at Hunter/Josten Publishing before retiring to run the front desk at a Salon in Winston-Salem. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking dishes for church events. She had a great love for animals, cats and dogs and for her flowers and landscape plants. She enjoyed buying items for others especially Christmas and birthday gifts. Linda, you have been good to all of us. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday March 8, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 PM Wednesday March 9, 2016 in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Robin Fitzgerald. Burial will follow beside her beloved twins Michael and Matthew at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church on Nebo Road. Special thanks for the loving care given to her over the past year by all the staff at Yadkin Nursing Center and to her special friend Cathy Webb.
