Alma Jane Brock

Brock Yadkinville- Mrs. Alma Jane Poindexter Brock, 86, of Brock Road passed away peacefully Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. She was born January 30, 1930 in Yadkin County to the late Posie Lester and Alice Caudle Poindexter. Mrs. Brock worked for several years with Yadkin Nursing Center. She was of the Holiness Faith, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother to her family. On October 3, 1949, Mrs. Brock married her beloved husband, Robert Henry Brock who preceded her in death on August 14, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert G. Brock on April 23, 1999; by sisters, Stella Murphy, Florence Wright; brothers, Ralph, Turnie, Weldon, Ulliss, and Lester Poindexter; and by 2 sons-in-law, Andrew Cummings and Kirk W. Cleary. Surviving are her children, Darlene (James) Cummings, Frances (the late Kirk W.) Cleary, Linda (David) Smith; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, William Poindexter. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev.
