Everidge Jonesville - Joe Clay Everidge, 82, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at Woltz Hospice Home. He was born September 17, 1933 in Yadkin County to the late James Edgar Everidge and Hazel Wilkins Everidge. Joe was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Elkin Masonic Lodge, a member of the Shriners, and he also served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Bryant Everidge; sisters, Margaret Ipock, Judy Mauldin; brothers, Jack Everidge, Sam Everidge, Charles Everidge, John "Bud" Everidge, Jim Everidge. Surviving are his daughters, Melva Edmisten, Martha Dickerson (Robbie Blalock); sister, Elaine (Jimmy) Ireland; brothers, Albert (Levone) Everidge, Ovid (Hazel) Everidge; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Jonesville by the Rev. Roger Hensley and the Rev. Albert Everidge. Burial will follow at Fall Creek Baptist Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
