Doris Elizabeth Hutchens

East Bend Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Oliver Hutchens, 85, passed away Friday, April 01, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Hutchens was born September 30, 1930 in Yadkin County to Narve and Ethel Macemore Oliver. She was a member of Baltimore United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hutchens was preceded in death by her husband, Delma Harrison Hutchens; a son, Timothy Hutchens; and six siblings. She is survived by four children, Delma Hutchens, David (Beth) Hutchens, Karen (James) McRae, and Tommy (Brenda) Hutchens; six grandchildren, Danny Hutchens, Christie (Jamie) Hawkins, Wendy (Jeff) Gordon, Scott McRae, Helen Hutchens, and Mark Hutchens; seven great grandchildren, TJ, Jackson, & Alex Gordon, Jamie & Emily McRae, and Madison & Kara Hutchens; one brother, Verlin (Bonnie) Oliver; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00AM at Baltimore UMC with Rev. Kelly Geise and Rev. Verlin Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baltimore UMC Building Fund, 2419 Baltimore Rd East Bend, NC 27018.
