Yadkinville Mrs. Lucy Merle Snider Cranford, 94, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Cranford was born March 13, 1922 in Randolph County to Wilson Burrell and Ortie Nance Snider. She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church. Mrs. Cranford enjoyed working in her flowers and sewing. She was also an avid reader. Mrs. Cranford was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother, and was the definition of a true lady. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cranford was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Olen Cranford; two grandchildren, Jeff Hobson and Kim Beamer; one sister, Allene Boyer; and three brothers, Hobert, Clyde, and Chalmer Snider. She is survived by three daughters, Carol (Gerald) Hutchens, Frances (Paul) Matthews, and Brenda (Larry) Reavis; six grandchildren, Eddie Hobson, Joey (Sandy) Hobson, Brent (Marie) Matthews, David Matthews, Larry Reavis Jr., and Dale Reavis; nine great grandchildren, Trent Hobson, Paige Alonzo, Dillon Hobson, Alex Hobson, Breck Matthews, Tiffany Matthews, Caleb Matthews, Tyler Beamer, and Brianna Fink; and eight great-great grandchildren, Bryce Hobson, Kelvin Alonzo, Bentley Roten, Alex Alonzo, Mason Myers, Daylen McCormick, Destinee McCormick, and Brantlee Smith. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 3:00PM at Maplewood Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maplewood Baptist Church, 1100 Maplewood Dr, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
