Nellie Frazier Craver

Nellie Frazier Craver of Boonville passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016. She was born in the Boonville community on her family's farm in 1922 to Tyra and Mamie Frazier. Two of her three siblings preceded her in death: Jimmy W. Frazier and Julius A. Frazier. Her sister, Helen Frazier Shultz of Richmond, VA was by Nellie's side her passing. Mrs. Craver graduated from Boonville High School in 1940. She later married Charles Tatem Craver in 1946. They were married for fifty-one years before his death in 1997. She and her husband made their home in Boonville were the owned and operated Craver Handle Co. until retirement. They had four children: Avis Nell Craver Miller of Boonville, Julia Ann Craver of Boonville, Charles Wesley Craver of Pfafftown, and David Henry Craver of Boonville. Nellie is survived by nine grandchildren: Gabriel Alexander Miller of Raleigh, Jennifer Caroline Miller McMahan of Louisville, KY; Jacob Winfield and Jackson Gray Craver of Boonville, Ryan Wesley, Liam Alexander, Sophia Isabella, Adam Nathaniel, and Eva Marie Craver of Pfafftown. Nellie also had four great grandchildren: Caroline Elizabeth, Anastacia Katherine, William Matthew, and Victoria Rose McMahan of Louisville, KA. Nellie was a lifelong member of Boonville Baptist Church and she lived her faith daily in selfless devotion to God and her family. She was a skilled seamstress and possessed a talent for creative and beautiful reproductions of antique furniture, rugs, and crafts, with which she decorated her home and shared with friends and family. Services will be held at Boonville Baptist Church on Friday May 13, with visitation to begin at 10am and funeral at 11 am. There will be a reception for friends and family at the church following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Boonville Baptist Church PO Box 429 Boonville, NC 27011 or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103. A special gratitude for the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their care for Nellie during her final days. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Craver family.
