Virginia Lee Darnell

East Bend Mrs. Virginia Lee Bowen Darnell, 85, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Darnell was born November 25, 1930 in Forsyth County to Arthur and Maude Spaugh Bowen. She retired from Thalhimers Dept. Store after 30 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Darnell was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton E. Darnell, Sr.; a son, Grant Darnell; and three sisters. She is survived by one son, Cliff (Dale) Darnell; and two grandsons, Matthew Darnell and Sam Darnell (Haley Sudderth). A private graveside service will be conducted Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11:00AM at Pfafftown Christian Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn.
