John Harding McClannon

Mocksville Mr. John Harding McClannon, 95, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 22, 1921 in Davie County to John David and Margaret Griffin McClannon. He was retired from Ingersoll Rand in Mocksville. Mr. McClannon enjoyed farming and fishing. In addition to his parents, Mr. McClannon was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Cook; a great grandson, Anthony Shawn McClannon; and five siblings. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Inez Holcomb McClannon; two daughters, Judy (Willis) Trivette and Brenda Howell; two sons, Bill (Diana) McClannon and Eugene McClannon; 21 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 2:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Pastor Bobby Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel UMC cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center ICU 1st Floor and to Shiloh for the loving care given to Mr. McClannon.
