Hubert Santford Mauldin

Mauldin Hamptonville- Mr. Hubert Santford Mauldin, 99, of Hamptonville passed away Monday May 16, 2016. He was born October 30, 1916 in Yadkin County to the late James Santford and Lucinda Hemric Mauldin. Hubert was a devoted member of Zion Baptist Church and was the oldest living member of the church. A farmer all of his life, who truly enjoyed working the soil and seeing the results of his labor. He had many special interests, including woodworking, spending hours completing wood projects was a wonderful enjoyment to him. Always devoted to helping his family, neighbors and friends was his great fulfillment. The Latin phrase "Sui Generis" translated "one of a kind" describes him. Preceding Hubert in death was his loving wife of 55 years, Annie Trivette Mauldin, who died, September 6, 1996. Also a daughter-in-law, Judy Mauldin who died December 24, 2015. Survivors include his daughter, Pattie (Hoyt) Reece of Boonville; a son, Ernest Mauldin, Hamptonville; sister, Opal Mauldin, Hamptonville; grandchildren, Jerome (Donna) Mauldin, Hamptonville; Lucinda Reece, Wilmington; great-grandson, Heath (Kayla) Mauldin, Hamptonville; great-great-grandchildren, Colton and Adlee; a niece; and several nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30PM Friday May 20, 2016 at Zion Baptist Church, Union Grove Loop Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020. His funeral service will follow the visitation in Zion Baptist Church 2:30 PM Friday with Dr. Joey Tomlin and Rev. Dennis Shaw, Officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
