Kent Andrew Cranfill passed away at his home after a long battle with cancer on May 25, 2016. He was born on April 18, 1952 to the late Joe Cranfill and Mabel H. Cranfill of Hamptonville. He graduated from Starmount High School and Piedmont Aeronautics as a mechanic. Kent was a jack of all trades who could fix almost anything. He worked at farming, as a pipe fitter, truck driver, plumber, and a farm mechanic among other things. He spent his last 20 plus years working for Myers Farms Inc. as a farm mechanic where he was treated like one of the family. He was always a hard worker and enjoyed working around his farm when he was able up until his last days. He was liked by everyone and never hesitated to help someone out. He was proceeded in death by his father Joe Cranfill. He is survived by his wife Rebecca who he had been with for 27 years, mother Mabel Cranfill, one son Kent Andrew (Drew) and wife Caroline, step-son Zach Phillips and wife Laura, two grandsons Dorian and Arlo Cranfill, brother Joseph (Mimi) Cranfill, along with niece Renee (Tim) and great niece Haley Hartman. Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday May 28, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday May 29, 2016 at 2 pm at Flatrock Baptist Church of Hamptonville by Dr. Joey Tomlin.
