Max Worth Reece

Max W. Reece beloved father passed away peacefully with Deborah and Sam by his side. Mr. Reece loved music and singing in the choir. Daughter Deborah reports the even Mr. Reece's snoring was melodious. During his extended illness Mr. Reece never complained and often serenaded his Family, Doctors, Nurses, Nursing Staff and care givers. On one memoriable occasion when Mr. Reece and Ms. Hazel Hemric were both in the Baptist Hospital on the same floor. Mr. Reece left his sick bed and traveled down thehall by wheel chair To sing Amazing Grace to his beloved Mother in Law. His beautiful voice echoed in the middlehallway and all were moved to tears. Mr. Reece was class President of the Boonville High School Class of 1957. He won many award with R J Reynolds Tobacco Company.Mr. Reece retired from RJR Tobacco company and was Superintendent of Sunday School at Swaims Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Reece grew up working on his father and mothers Tobacco Farm. He was a Championship Gardner where he grew enough vegetables for his family, friends, and community. Preceeded in Death by his wife Jerry Emerson Reece, Mother in law Hazel J. Hemric father L. Norman Reece, Mother Myrtle Casstevens Reece , Survived by Daughter Deborah R. Swift and Son in Law William S. Swift, grand pets, one Sister Brenda R Brindle and husband Donnie Brindle; a niece and great niece. Mr. Reece loved his family and was an excellent provider, a solid rock who built his life and anchored his loved ones in the Solid Rock..Jesus Christ. Mr. Reece was a blessing and encouragement to all who knew him. A celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday May 29, 2016 at Home Coming 608 North Bridge Street Elkin, NC 28621.
