Glen Albert Messick

Yadkinville Mr. Glen Albert Messick, 85, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Messick was born February 26, 1931 in Yadkin County to Glattus and Nellie Reinhardt Messick. He enjoyed working on cars and working with his cows. In addition to his parents, Mr. Messick was preceded in death by five siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Virginia Mathis Messick; six children, Sharon (Junior) Church, Steven (Rebecca) Messick, Kenneth (Teresa) Messick, Joe (Anita) Messick, Dennis (Debbie) Messick, and Regina (Shorty) Howell; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and one brother, Larry Dean (Peggy) Messick. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 2:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Bill Hale officiating. Burial will follow at West Yadkin Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, especially nurse David, for the loving care given to Mr. Messick.
