Ralph Ray Shores

Boonville Mr. Ralph "Paw Paw"Ray Shores, 82, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at Hugh Chatham Hospital. Mr. Shores was born January 27, 1934 in Surry County to Walter and Teshie Pardue Shores. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play soccer, watching NASCAR and boxing, and playing cards. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shores was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Randleman Shores; two children, Randall Shores and Wendy Velazquez; four sisters, Dorothy Nixon, Lillian Gentry, Katheryn Swaim, and Shelia Dezearn; two brothers, Edworth and Clyde Shores; and one half-brother, Roman Marsh. He is survived by one child, Kimberly Shores; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Shores; nine grandchildren, Brandy (Marcelino) Yanez, Jesse, Jessica, Justin, Rusty, Justine, Jancy, and Jacob Shores, and Jared Sizemore; seven great grandchildren, Alyssa Yanez, Nytasia and Xadrian Martin, Hayden, Summer, and Zaylen Shores, and Tristan Perez; and one sister, Elsie Gentry. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, June 13, 2016 at 2:00 at Gentry Family Chapel with Danny Beeson officiating. Burial will follow at Longtown cemetery.
