Guy Eugene Hutchens

Hutchens East Bend- Guy Eugene "Buddy" Hutchens, 74, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. Mr. Hutchens was born March 8, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Edgar Speas Hutchens and Kathleen Chadwick Hutchens. Buddy has been a dedicated member of Forbush Volunteer Fire Department since 1963 where he served as Fire Chief for 14 years. He retired from Westinghouse after 30 years of service. Buddy was also a member at Enon Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Phelps Hutchens. Surviving are his son, Wesley Clay Hutchens (Renae); daughter, Julianna Prejusa; sister, Sylvia Reavis; brother, Billy Hutchens (Karen); three grandchildren, Ezra, Brelyn, and Eli Hutchens. His funeral service will be Tuesday June 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark Elmore. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday June 20, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
