Hamptonville Mr. James Floyd Brown, 85, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at his home. Mr. Brown was born December 1, 1930 in Yadkin County to Buster "Buck" and Fannie Brooks Brown. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Bernice Stokes Brown; and three brothers, Dallas, Dan, and Mack Brown. He is survived by his daughter, Sue (Tony) Collins; two granddaughters, Suzanne Hall and Johnette (Richard) Boulter; one great granddaughter, Savannah Terry; four sisters, Bertha Katherine Shore, Jane (Jerry) Wagoner, Patty (Junior) Sebastian, and Shirley (Sam) Willard; two brothers, Roger (Kathy) Brown and Joe (Helen) Brown; one sister-in-law, Margaret Brown; two brothers-in-law, Worth (Mildred) Stokes and WG (Kay) Stokes; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 2:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Tim Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Mtn. View Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn.
