James Hubert Royall

James Hubert Royall, 77, passed away June 21, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was the oldest of 9 children born to John D. and Gladys Vickers Royall. James and his wife Velma Church Royall raised a large family of 6 boys and 1 girl. He ran Royall Mobile Home Transport for 50 years. James loved sitting in the Café drinking Coffee and talking to his friends every day. His children helped him in the tobacco fields and moving mobile homes and raised tobacco. He loved music mostly blue grass and gospel. He enjoyed his work and he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sister, two brothers. Surviving are his wife of 57 years Velma Church Royall; seven children Jimmy (Lisa H.) Royall, Rick (Ronni) Royall, Johnny (Patricia) Royall, Ann (Dennis) Cheek, Randy (Lisa W.) Royall, Harry (Beverly) Royall, Jammie (Debbie) Royall; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters Carol (Billy) Stewart, Nettie Ruth (Dale) Mathis, Anna Lou Adkins; 1 brother Tony Royall; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday June 23, 2016 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday June 24, 2016 at Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Jerry Shelton. Burial will follow at Swaims Baptist Church Cemetery.
